    Could, but why just replace the resistor and maintain the use of the factory knob.

    well I see that some of the people here were haveing problems with the ignition burning it out and if its a faulty ignition I figured you could do that as a temp fix till you could afford a new one, Id hate to have my heat go out in the winter when I was strapped for cash.lol Any wase it was just a thought I had.
