So I've had my car, a 1997 GT, for about 2 months and the gas gauge has acted crazy the entire time. Sometimes it will be fine and read the correct level, but other times as soon as I turn the ignition on the needle goes all the way to full and takes it's time returning to the correct fuel level. I'm pretty much baffled by what the problem could be, I know it's not the fuel level sensor because it will eventually give me my correct fuel level. I think it may be something to do with my gauge cluster. Has anybody else had a problem similar to this, it's not really that big of a problem, just really annoying.

Ya I think all pontiac's have screwed up fuel gauges. It's not like it's a huge deal but it is really annoying not knowing exactly how much gas you have all the time.
