    I've seen one and heard that it's common for a motor going bad to stop working while being used....... It's like they have an automatic reset... If something is going wrong they will stop working momentaraly but minutes later will work again.

    We just changed the whole regulator/motor assembly and the problem was solved.

    usually that is the thermal overload kicking in, a bad connection can cause that as well as a bind, replacing everything would fix that, but may be overkill
