    bare with me

    -a few weeks ago i got the ses light (after going wot), got it scanned, turns out it was:
    cyl 4 misfire
    #2 o2 sensor bad
    coolant sensor
    iat sensor

    -now yesterday, the light went off. the problem could not have been magically fixed.
    -reecently did a tune up, so that should rule out the plugs and wires for misfire. now i gotta order the vacuume kit from zzp.

    -and on a side note, i have been getting really bad gas milage.
    -what could be the source of the problem (codes and why the light came on then off)?

    If your coolant sensor is bad and the computer thinks your car is only at like 30* it will dump a crap ton of fuel to compensate that may result in a misfire and will give you horrible gas mileage. You could have hit it just right and made it work somehow.

    if the coolant temp sensor was bad, wouldnt the gage in the cluster be messed up also?

    not always there is two parts to the sensor one goes to the gauge and one goes to the pcm

    You never have to worry about the rear o2 unless you have an 01 or newer because they run a diagnostic and will dump fuel until the o2 tells it to shut it off.

    There's only one temp sensor. It tells the gauge via the ppm. If you have a cooler thermostat then it can trip a coolant temp code.

    As far as I know, the wiring from the sensor goes to the PCM, and that's where it ends, the other one is simply a ground.

    There are three wires in our ECT sensor. One to feed ground or power, two to read the resistance. One of those two feeds to the pcm the other feeds to the gauge.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
