I'm looking at getting myself a wideband O2 gauge soon. But, I'm not clear on whether or not I need to get additional hadware to go with it. Im not even sure how exactly they hook up. Do I have to drill a hole and put in an O2 bung? Or does replace the front o2? May seem like silly questions to some but I honestly don't know thats why I ask.

I replaced the stock o2 with my wideband, I have the innovate lc-1 with gauge but others are probably the same... It has a "simulated narrowband" signal, I took my stock o2 and cut the wire harness off of it and got my power and ground and sent my signal back out all through the harness. And if ever need be I can unplug it and stick a narrowband back in easily... But most keep the stock o2 and if they don't have a cat use the rear o2 bung or have another bung welded in pre-cat.

Well I don't have a cat so its going in the rear O2 or a new bung. Ok thanks!

In order to get accurate readings the wideband 02 sensor needs to be placed a certain distance downstream of the rear head. Be sure to read the instructions for proper install.

supposed to be like 8-14" downstream. the best place is at the bottom of the downpipe.

i just measure the length of the headers rear and downpipe
    32" downstreme from front o2
w/o the extender pipe on the speed daddys 22"

    the aem says 18"

so should i go get an o2 welded in somewhere in the downpipe on the ubend in the speed daddys now while the headers are still sitting off the car?

Speaking of headers I'm thinking of replacing my PaceSetters with Wbodystore stainless ones. The Pacesetters leak. I'm sure that would help with O2 sensor readings...
