True, but I bought my car for 3k, It's probably worth about 2k right now. The shop would charge about 1k for the labor, and figure $400-$800 for a motor. It may be about $500 cheaper to have it fixed than to buy a new car.

im thinking it could all be done for around 1200, your gonna need to do some leg work looking for a engine, not sure which one you have, but there's one on sale here, and they are all over junk yards. it dont need to be same year. around 450 to 500 for a engine, and like 500 or so for the install.
