Hey, i have a 1998 GTP and my fuel pump just went bad. I heard from someone that there is a compartment in the trunk for easy access to the pump. Does anyone know if thats true? Or whats the easiest way to change it?

I have an 88 and have to pull tank. You might have access from under back seat or deep in the trunk - I hope so for your sake - get a book at a parts store. Good luck
there is access in the truck. Pull up all the truck matting and behind the spare tire compartment there is a little metal plate. It has some bolts on it, they are 10mm IIRC.

Time to get to work. Fuel pump arrived:
Started fuel pump replacement. GM was kind enough to design an access panel in the trunk area. Which is easy to get to via the back seat. Removed the nuts holding it down and here is the module it's in. You can see I had already started removing the lines:
Clip was removed with a screwdriver:
Pump and bucket dismantled:
All back together and ready for reinstall:
My post from another forum when I installed the racetronix.
Are you 100% sure it's the fuel pump? I thought mine had gone out, replaced it and its not priming. I'm having a completely different issue that has nothing to do with a fuel pump.
Thanks alot guys!!!
Well i changed already the fuel pump resistor earlier this year. I even bent the pin in the relay box to see if it started but nothing. I cant't even hear the pump at all. I put in in ON with out starting it and u usually hear the pump kick in but nothing at all. You think is something else?
I hope for your sake it's just the pump man. Heres a link to my thread:

Just make sure you test that the pump is getting power, before spending the coin.
