I recently got a '96 grand prix with a 3100 and 200K+. When idling revs go from 500-2000, up then down, almost dies, then it saves it self over and over. I cleaned the maf, cleaned the tb, new IAC, helped a tiny bit, but not too much. Then when i leave the in the morning, when i hit the accelerator, the car will die unless i keep my foot on the gas, but after a minute that goes away and the car drives normally. Could this be a Cam problem or a timing problem?

    Thanks

Sounds like a possible crank positioning sensor problem.

Have you sprayed carb cleaner around engine while it's running? Possible vac leak as well.

I have a 99 GT and had the same idle problem. It was fuse #21 IGN1UH.
Repaced the fuse, cured the problem.
