so i bought another gtp on sunday, and noticed today it is leaking coolant from the lim.. not a huge deal to me but i have a couple questions...
this is not a stock gtp, its a 98 with a 05 gt block, top swaped, top end is still 98, has a s1x cam, ls7 springs, speed daddy's, and a 3.5 pully.
with that being said on to the questions...
everything i read says no plastic gaskets, but the fel pro kit i am looking at has plastic-rubber end seals, is there a better one for what the car has done to it?
next.. do i get the kit for the 05 or for the 98? dident think it would matter considering it is all bolted together, but wanted to make sure.
last.. is there anything else i should go ahead and do while im in there?
the block has 43k mi on it and the heads have 10k the s/c has 157k.
i think the only reason its leaking is it was not sealed quite right when the top swap was done..
thanks in advance for any help on this..

Where's the leak? You say LIM, but that could mean the end cover (small gasket by itself) etc.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

is leaking on the driver side, coming from the the end of the lim. the lim has to be pulled to relace that end seal correct? thus having to replace the actual lim gaskets?

You were probably looking at the original replacement, which is Plastic with rubber seals. You want the Felpro Gasket # MS98014T, "Problem Solver" gasket, it's metal with rubber seals. You will also need a Supercharger gasket, possibly TB gasket depending on how far you tear it apart, theres actually a full list of everything you need to do it somewhere around here...

AHA!!! found it... took some searching skills but I found everything you need to do the job

    Read this http://www.grandprixforums.net/video...utes-3112.html

Pay particular attention to Post #13 by TMC.... everything you need and stepped instructions for doing it... or watch the video in the link in Post #1 if you want the easy way out

EDIT: BTW ive done it 2xs now... it looks harder than it is, but you can do it with most basic auto tools and a good open saturday
