So my mechanic says i have a bad catalytic converter and 02 sensor... he says prly around 5 or 6 hundred to fix. I told him that my buddies at GPforums would be ashamed in me for getting this done and not going the route of U bend delete and losing the cat. Ive done alot of reading and am wondering what the conclusion on this mod is as far as:

*****keeping the resonator or losing it
*****rewelding the 02 sensor back on or not (will this make my 01 GTP run rich always if i don't have a rear 02 sensor?)
*****going to 3" pipe vs stock

Ive heard the exhaust sound from GPs without a resonator and really don't think ill like the metallic noise that results.

    drop some knowledge on me

neither...first the maechanic is an idiot as the o2 sensor he is talking about if prop for the cat meaning its more than likely on or the other but i doubt its both at the same time. second if you dont like the sound without the resinator then keep the resinator.....third i only hollowed my cat out as they dont test the exhaust here but only do a site check to make sure its there...fourth tune the second o2 out of the computer or buy a sensor to fake the computer but if your getting rid of the cat dont put the o2 back in and no it wont make you run rich...last get the u bend delete or make your own as i did

    U bend delete Yes.
You can run catless if you want... it smells like A**
deleting rear O2 will do nothing except set a code (it does not control fuel trims)
Resonator.. Keep the dang thing on so there no rasp.

    That is all

Ok so if I remove the u bend and have a pipe put in place, or even remove the cat, do I need to make a hole for my censor to be placed back into the pipe or can I just attach it to my frame to keep it from hanging. I do not wanna remove it and have my service engine light come on.
