It's the ignition switch. The contacts get so badly scorched they eventually fail.
It usually starts with DIC/Blower speed/AC problems. In my case, the DRL relay was also going crazy.
I found two excellent links for this issue:
1. Diagnosis here:Sparky's Answers: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix Blower Inoperative, Erratic
2. Replacement procedure here:Sparky's Answers: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, Changing The Ignition Switch
If you find these liks helpful, I'm sure "Sparky" would appreciate any contribution you could afford. (No, I am not Sparky, nor am I affiliated with the site.)
Ignition switch - GM Delco part number:26068757
All of my little electrical gremlins completely disappeared after replacing the switch.
To get the longest possible life out of the new switch, you could also install the Plug-N-Play ignition switch bypass relay.

Hope that helps!
