synthetic wont hurt a thing.. that a myth about it being bad on gaskets and such. if it were my car id use a cheaper synthetic since its a stock DD.

regular oil is just thicker. Synthetic oil will find leaks faster becuase its thinner.

ok well, then thinner might not be the right word.

Synthetic Oils do not cause leaks.

    Synthetic oils Expose leaks.

The High detergent action of the oils(IE. higher flash point, lower viscosity) removes sludge build up in the seals from conventional oils. the sludge is a film of oil and dirt and soot from combustion, this slurry works like wet sandpaper to polish metal and wear seals. As long as crank case pressures remain stable ha ha ha no leak , but introduce a high detergent oil and now that sludge is gone allowing the leak to take place

    Myths About Synthetic Motor Oils

Myth: Mobil 1 will leak out of the seals of older cars.
    Reality:

Mobil 1 does not cause leaks. In fact, new Mobil 1 was tested in dozens of industry standard and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) tests to prove its seal performance. It is fully compatible with the elastomeric materials from which all automotive seals and gaskets are made. If an older engine is in good condition and does not have oil leaks, Mobil 1 provides the same advantages as when used in a new engine. ExxonMobil recommends taking measures to repair the leaks, then using Mobil 1. ExxonMobil also recommends following the automobile manufacturer's manual for the proper oil to use. Also watch our answer; it's myth four of five in our online video.

I heard that using synthetic after u used conventional that synthetic will not go into all the hidding spots due to all the build up and deposits making the motor burn up?...but maybe the guy i heard it from was on crack?
