Hi have a 99 grand prix and the fan works but willl not blow air very good. It has the push button selectors instead of turn knobs (climate control). I can't get it to switch from defrosters to floor or anywhere.

Done some search but have not found any solid if about it. Any advice would be great as I will tear into into tommorrow.

Well after tracing some vac lines into the car and finding no breaks that I have found and also found to be vacuum going through the lines. I then found out that my vacuum control valve solenoid has dirt/sand in it and I am suspecting it is probably bad. Will replace. Also I am going to take a vac and clean out all the sand I see in my air plenum so the promblem won't happen again.

its probably the blend door or actuator

I should correct myself from the original post. It does blow good but does not switch vents.

I tested the solenoid and found that it clicked when I turned on defrosters but not on vents or floor.

I had this problem with my 98 GTP and troubleshot it out. It turned out to be the vac solenoid actuator assembly. Located passenger side behind glove box. Once I swapped it out, everything works great! GM part is 15-72182. I got one from an Olds Alero (same part) from a junkyard for 4.00 and saved 60.00. This is 99% of the time the problem with these.
