    Hello.
I have a 99 gt. Ive only had it about a month and it occasionaly doesn't like to let the key turn all the way back to release. With a little playing around it'll finally turn all the way. Well today, it stopped being so nice and no matter what I've tried, I cant get the key to turn all the way off to release key.
I called dealer and they suggested spraying a little lubricant or silicone inside the tumbler (if I ever get the key out) until I can get it in to them.

And I have tried several different keys, so I know that it is not just one key causing an issue.
I didn't know if anyone eles has had this issue? I'm hoping its something simple and a rather easy fix.

Tilt your steering wheel all the way up. Pull the lever for the tilt wheel off. Take the two torx screws off of the bottom of the steering column and remove the cover they were holding on. Next to the ignition, you will see a white device about 3-4 inches long that is held in by one screw and a clip. Unplug the wire from that and remove it. Put everything back together.

I just went throught the exact same problem with mine and did this a few days ago. This is the shift/park interlock that doesn't allow you to take the key out of the ignition unless the vehicle is in park. It wears out and won't let you take the key out even in park. The only drawback to removing it is that you can now turn the ignition all the way off and remove the key no matter where the shifter is.

Until you can do this, there is a hole below the ignition. Push a pen or something in there to hit the release button and your key will come out.
