my outside door handle broke on my drivers side. before you take it all apart you can adjust the linkage on it. ive had to do that on both of my doors. all you need to do is open the door and then take the inner cover of that is in the door jam and then ytou have access to the linkages and can see if it is a door handle or just a simple linkage adjustment
My problem is similar but a little more complex. My door will not open from the outside or inside, so I cannot take the door panel off to fix the linkage. Any suggetsyions? Also, one of the rods seems loose near the door handle from what I can tell trying to pry the panel as far open as I can. Since it's not visible how do you know where it attaches? Does anyone have a linkage diagram I could see?
Glad ya'll haven't seen me then, felt like the dukes of hazzards every once in a while. Kinda got it figured out what I need to do, but a picture or drawing would be nice.
You need to pull the door panel to fix the issue. That's the tough part. The best potential way to get at it would be to pull the drivers seat. That'll give you some room between it and the panel. From there, it's a matter of disassembling and trying to not destroy it while pulling it off in a way it wasn't designed to be pulled.
