Hello:
I have an issue that seems abnormal with the speedometer. I was cruising down the road the other day and threw it in neutral while coasting (don't ask why--I had a reason but I don't remember now), and when it went into neutral the speedo almost immediately went down to zero. This can't be normal is it? Has anyone else tried this, and did your speedo still show your current speed or did it go to zero? As soon as I put it back in gear it went right back to showing my current speed. Seems like it should show all the time, at least when the engine is running.
Also wondering if anyone has any good (cheap or free) ideas for weight savings without removing comfort/convenience or visual items. I don't want to cut holes in the bumper or remove trim or anything like that, but if there is anything that anyone has found that is not real visible and doesn't serve much purpose, I would like to put the car on a little bit of a diet. I think it would be more nimble and responsive with a little weight savings. Most of the threads I have seen say to either cut holes in things or throw things out (or buy aluminum parts or small batteries, etc.). I will look at the coil mount and see if any of that can be cut, but overall I don't want to cut holes in anything that is visible or safety/convenience. Any ideas?
