I received permission awhile ago, from Parker himself, to produce a similar product based off the design of the TDC Racing fender well intake system for the 3800 engines.

I have been looking around at a couple of places that could make the pipe for me, however, of all the quotes I received, it is very expensive to produce, especially on the small number scale. One of the issues of the TDC Racing intake was it was made of steel which makes the system very heavy. It is close to 10 lbs. A big issue of price was because of all the bends. It isn't exactly cheap to stretch and bend 4 inch piping.

I have a couple of solutions in mind.

Working with a local shop, I have been able to find ways to cut down cost a little. The first is to try to reduce the bends. It was suggested by the shop, and I agree with them, to use a coupler with a bend off the throttle body to connect to the intake pipe. The other was to try to keep it as straight as possible to the fender. This is beneficial to both the manufacturer and the customer.

Another thing I would like to do is make the system out of aluminum, rather than steel, to drop some of the weight. I'm not sure yet if this would reduce or increase the cost of the product.

I plan to do a couple of things to the piping before I package it and ship it out as well. I'm a firm believer in quality and image of a product. I will not be selling the pipe without it being painted first. I'm still looking into ways to do this but most likely powder coat. I'm also looking into ways to maybe pre-coat the piping before the powder coat in order to prevent potential heat soak as much as possible.

Another thing I didn't like about the TDC Racing was the quality of the block off plate. It had burn marks and its cuts were all uneven. I'm looking into ways to make this piece a lot more show appealing and so it actually fits nicely onto the fender and the intake itself.

I also would like to ask you all for what you would want to see in an intake system. What can I change on this system to make it more appealing for you? What do you feel is a fair price to charge for a complete kit? I want to set the kit up that includes the intake piping(powder coated and drilled for the IAT), block off plate, a cone filter, and the couplers. I will keep high standards when it comes to the quality of this kit, as well as make it a nice show piece.

A couple of things I want to look into are adding an IAT extension cable and PCM tray as apart of the kit. It would obviously increase the cost of the kit, but again I would like to take image and show into account and zip ties don't cut it in my opinion. I think the IAT extension cable would be a nice upgrade. Any thoughts on these possible additions? Any ideas on other additions?

I would like to address a few things as well before all the questions get asked. I know the name, Parker, has a very negative image on this site. I know he took a lot of money from many of you and you never received your items so I want to clear a few things up first.

1. I am not working with Parker in any way with this future production of this intake. I am not affiliated with Top Dead Center Racing in any other way other than potentially manufacturing an intake system and kit closely based off their specific design.
2. I hold a high level of professionalism and I will NOT sell any of you anything without having it in stock first! I will try to keep an update of how many I have in stock, etc..
3. If there are any problems with the quality of the system when you receive it, whether it be a malfunction on my part, shipping, etc., I will do whatever I can to work with you on fixing the issue. I will clarify more in the future when/if this thing actually goes into production.
4. I am very very VERY easy to get a hold of. I plan to utilize my android/ google phone to make it possible for you all to reach me at almost any hour of the day through either e-mail or chat. I can't preach enough about how important excellent customer service is. It means a lot to me if customers are happy! It also helps me to bring in more revenue if I have a positive image. I want to keep this business endeavor very professional, but personal at the same time.

I hope I am able to bring this product to the table. I can't guarantee the cost of the product will be cheaper than what TDC was selling his intake system for, and to be honest I highly doubt it will be that cheap, but I will make sure it is a much higher quality part and worth it for you all.

What I need to know is how many of you would be interested in a kit like this? I just need a nice head count and opinons to make sure the production of the system is a worthwhile venture to pursue.

Thanks you guys!
