Your talking main caps? They do not have side bolts any of them.

My 04 has them. It has the normal bolts through the bottom of the mains into the block and smaller bolts that go through the side of the block into the mains. Kinda like the older ford motors.

I think I recall seeing these on my 00 GT's block as well. Also the 01 Monte engine that replaced it. Both were Series-II motors.

IIRC, its the first 3 mains that get the side bolts. They are usually overlooked due to being covered in oil/dirt.

Finally found info. all series 2 from 95 on up had these. They only difference with my block is that it has two knock sensor locations on each side of the block. That started from 04 on up. At least now I know what block to look for. Thanks for all the help guys!

They were on all the Series II blocks...and I think some of the later Series I engines. It was a big thing for the SBC to have Side bolt mains.

series III blocks still are the exact same as series II blocks..... the casting on the side will say series II.
