You have to bleed the air out of the coolant system after your done filling it up. Some people have a crap load of trouble with their car over heating after they fill it up and some don't have any issues.
Just fill the radiator all the way up with the car off. squeez the top radiator hose to attempt to get more air out. Refill. Repeat. start car. While car is still running refill radiator. Put radiator cap back on befre you stop the car. Let run and make sure it does not over heat.
Or just open up the bleed screw on the t stat housing as you will it up, then start it and let it reach operating temp with the rad cap off and wait for coolant to come out the bleeder.
