I know most of us have heard that if you jump start a car you could damage the PCM and there's a lot of points of view on how to actually jump start it without causing this damage, but some of these points of views may even contradict themselves.

What are your thoughts on this? Is it really possible to damage the PCM while doing this? how do you set the cables when you do it?

Positive cable to the aux power stud on the fuse box, the ground to a dog bone bolt, the only way you are going to have a chance at hurting the pcm is to hook the cables up backwards.

Ignorance is bliss for me. I had always heard that battery boosting could be bad for newer cars but I have always done it with no problems. No one has ever given me a clear explanation why.
Just hook it up carefully and disconnect them quick when the car fires up.
When someones car wont start, they don't give a damn about what if's.
They just want it running ASAP.
