    I think the a/c does have affect on cooling fans not sure but i know it does on many cars

    Yep you're right.

    I just called the Chevy service guy (not too happy with BPGMC dealer) and he said with the AC on, one cooling fan runs continually because it's needed for the coils.

    So that explains why the temp climbed, he said the fans don't come on until about 220 otherwise and I wasn't getting that hot.

    So I guess to stay cool, run the AC.
