I installed a 180 t- stat a while back and havent really had any hot days to see if everything was working out fine. Anyways today i was driving and my coolant temps were above 200 while stopped and hovering around 195 while driving? why would this be happening. Should i just replace the t stat? Thanks

nope no tuned pcm at the moment, is that why my t stat wouldn't be working? lol i didnt know that. But i also probably could have air in the system because even if the pcm is programmed for 195 it was above that today so it should have kicked in

your fans dont turn on at a low enough temperature to make a difference. you need to tune for it.

You should be fine when the tuned PCM is installed, most of them come standard with the fan settings to support a 180F t-stat unless you request different.
