    Hi all,

recently I picked up an '05 GTP with 37k miles on the clock. I like the car a lot, but am concerned about some black soot that was present on the exhaust tips when I bought it. The car has remote start, so i was thinking that maybe it was from the car idling a lot in the winter. Is there anything I can do (short of using a scanner) to find out the cause?

    Thanks in advance,
    hklvette

If it's in completely stock form, I would think that the person that owned it before actually drove the car i.e. WOT Or the dealership wanted to see what the car would do

I wouldn't be loosing sleep over it though.......rich is better then lean (to an extent)
Its just a car.......with rust and dreams for the future!!!!

Agreed. People complain about gas prices but if you stack them neck a neck...your paying what...$.20 more for a gallon of premium? And if your putting in 10 gallons thats 2 bucks...and your gonna gripe about that? I hope not...shouldn't have bought a car that requires it to run right if thats the case.

awesome guys thanks for the help. I plan on running marathon 93 (no alcohol) in it, but wanted to make sure that the color was normal before any "spirited" driving.
