Thread: no air no blower motor!!

hey guys, have a 2000 gp GT.. hit a deer in it in 07 and insurance try'd to bend me over so i just kept it and got it back running as a second car last summer. had a body shop fix front end and when i got it back the air didnt work or even make the clicking sound(compressor) when it should come on. while it was sitting the air didnt work. the blower motor went out last week so i bought a new one and went to put it in 2nite.... had the old one out and decided to check it, well it works!! could this a bad blower motor resistor????????

im just tryn to get one thing fixed at a time,after i get the blower motor workn then i deal with the air.. think its a cracked condenser anyway. i remember hearing a hissing after hitn the deer.. LOL

Just wondering is it automatic or manual control? There are 2 fuses they should both be labeled HAVAC something, I would suggest just check those. Hope that helps!!

i beleive the unit is a cj2.... has the 2 round knobs, one for driver one for pass...

those fuses, are they the ones in the glove compartment or under the hood..??

Does the blower motor work on any speeds? There is 3 fuses two in the inside labeled DIC/HVAC & HVAC HI. And one in the underhood fuse block labeled RADIO BATT.

the blower motor just stopped all together.... never even acted up b4

ok so 2day i checked the blower motor wires with a check light.. and it seems to have power goin to it.

next i made a ground wire and grounded it, when i touched the blower motor casing it turned on....???

the key wasnt in the car, is it still supose to have power running to it at ALL TIMES?????????

Here is a schematics for your blower motor controls. Yes it does have power all the time and the control module (not a resistor on your system) controls the ground through a pulse width modulation. The power through it is ok so make sure you have a good ground on terminal A. Make sure the fuses are all ok also. Use a volt meter and measure (with the key on) voltage at terminal c and ground. While doing this turn the fan speed switch on the control head from low to high speed. The voltage should range from around .5-7.0 volts. If you have power to the blower motor, a good ground for the module and the variable voltage to the module then I would say you need a new blower motor control module.
