you have to bore out the EGR stove pipe hole because the one on the L26 LIM is smaller in diameter and then you need a throttle body adapter. everything else is the same. i had one on my car for a bit.
i didnt do any of those modifications that guy did.
So I'm almost ready to turn the key, just a few things to put on. My question is once everything is on and ready, is this the correct procedure?
1. I turn the key to the "on" postition...not cranking it over... and check for fuel leaks on the line connections and injectors.
2. Once I see that there are no fuel leaks, I leave the coil pack harness unplugged and crank the motor over 2-3 times for ~7 secs. each time. To build up oil pressure.
3. Re-fill antifreeze and start it.....
Is this the correct procedure?
I'll update pics later, wasn't to bad.... but I also haven't started it yet
Just fill with coolant and start it.
Open bleeder on t-stat housing and fill with coolant as air escapes, when water starts to come out bleeder, close bleeder and top off radiator, install cap, top of overflow, drive.
you CANT bleed it with the car off
Its alive!!!! Only problem I ran into was I accidentally cross threaded the EGR bracket support bolt. I only have one of the bracket bolts in there. But I don't think that would cause a problem, seems sturdy enough. your thoughts?
Other then fishing out tools that would fall into the front air damn, and losing the altenator secondary bracket bolt. Thing went back together without a hitch. Also had an extra 8mm nut left over, but I think it holds on the coolant temp sensor wiring to the lim.
Now just to flush the radiator some more with cleaner/water, then oil change and I'm golden.
Car seems to idle ALOT more smoothly now, but my throttle body was really dirty!!! And I got rid of the stuck gas pedal at start up... I would have to tap it to break it loose from the carbon deposits on the backside of throttle.
so far so good, and I just saved ~$800, by switching to prestone!!!! (lame attempt at gieco commercial)
I'll add picts later whilst consumming alcholic beverages
great news!
