Larger rims = MORE rotation. Are you kidding?

well i am not trying to make anyone mad, but here is my 2 cents... if you have a 16in tire rotating at 40mph and a 24in tire rotating at the same speed the 24in tire has to cover more distance to spin at the same rate as the 16in tire. so you cover more distance on the road with a 24in itre than n 16in tire. this is why different size rims mess with you speedo. highschool physics

    24*3.14 = 75.36
    16*3.14 = 50.24

smaller tire has a smaller rotating foot print. its gonna take it more turns at a given speed as the bigger tire. just like a runner with short legs vs a runner with long legs, its gonna take the guy with short legs more steps to run the same distance. highschool dropout physics.

this is where you got me tho, the larger tire should be spining slower at the same speeds vs a smaller tire on a car going the same speed. take a down hill durby car, add some tiny wheels on it, there spining like crazy going down that hill (spining faster), now put some big wheels on it, there spining slower but the car is still going down the hill at the same rate. elementry physics.

a larger tire does not need to turn as fast (rpm) to achive the same speed as a smaller wheel on a car going down the road.

to turn both tires at 100 revolutions per min, yes its gonna take more distance to do that with a larger tire, but that does not apply to vehicle speed.

^^^yes, so essentially we are both correct on 2 different sides of the problem, so we help out our fellow GP owners twice as much!

Not really seeing as most should have been able to figure this out themselves.
