Does anyone have a write up on changing the drivers info center light bulbs. Or does anyone know how to do this.
I have changed the bulb out in my radio with no problems.
This is in a 2000 GTP

what is your DIC doing that makes you want to change the bulb? Mine doesn't show anything but under sunlight or certain flash lights it shows up and works fine. If its light bulbs that would rock for me.

If it's dim or gone then it's a bulb that's dying. Someone over at ClubGP did a writeup on this, it's an old link but it worked when I logged into the forum so I hope it works for you.

You need to get Sylvania #24 bulbs from any auto store (I paid about $5 for a pack of two), take apart the DIC, gently unscrew the blue bulb retainer, then you basically have to break off the old bulb from the blue retainer before replacing with the new bulb. I did the replacement this week with no problems.

^^I realize a stock L36 is not as fast as the sticker implies, but this sticker has worked and it is still a hell of a lot of fun to drive considering it's a grocery sedan.

Are there clips in those bulbs in 2000 grand prix models which dont permit you to pull the bulb out of the blue retaining socket? It looks like a #24 bulb but there is no way to pull the bulb out without breaking it. I tried everything. The part number for the bulb and the socket is 16151234 or PC119 and I cannot find them at any auto parts store so right now Im looking at a cost of around $234 for a new DIC

The dealership should have the bulb with the blue base you were trying to pull it out of. Just bring an old bulb from the DIC with you to the dealership and they'll match it up for you. This much easier since you can just twist the bulb and the base right out. I believe there are 5 bulbs in there if you want to replace all of them at once.

I got a handful of them from the pick-a-part last week for my $1 entry fee.

I'm pretty sure pc74s will work --- but I haven't gotten one in hand yet to make sure of that.

16151234 is the part number. Dealer only item and cost 4.80ea. Dealer requires you to buy 2 at a time. They have to order them but still the price for replacement bulb and socket out weighs a new DIC. Thanks for those part numbers.
