Folks:
The full bumper to bumper warranty expires on my 07 on October 13, 2009, although the 5/100 powertrain will still be around till October of 2011.
I have learned that an OEM warranty extension can be had for a more reasonable price when the vehicle in question has an existing powertrain coverage. This was the case on the wife's 05 Grand Caravan which also had a 7/70 PT along with the 3/36.
Anyway, I scoured the internet and found Ridgeway Chevrolet in Lansing, Il. to be an internet seller of the GM factory service contracts.
I called, and spoke to a very nice woman named Karen (888-881-4990) who quoted me $1400 for a term of 4 years/48000 miles on a Major Guard policy with a 0$ deductible.
For ~$30 a month, this amounts to not having to worry about anything beyond regular maintenance through September of 2013 or 79k miles which ever comes first. I drive around 10k a year.
I do not work for any related business, and simply offer this info up for perusal by those who are in similar circumstances and are considering a service contract on a GM vehicle.
