Hay, First off, sorry if im not posting this in the correct section. Anyways, I recently acquired a 2007 base model. I've had it for about a month and a half and I love it! Anyways, I installed an after-market stereo deck today with a cheap $15 wiring harness. I am aware that It wont retain RAP, chimes, bose/monsoon, or onstar. I am ok with that. Just about everything went smoothly even turned the deck on and cranked it up and it worked the first time. It wasn't until after I had put everything together that i noticed that I had to reset the HUD. Prolly wiped the eprom chip or something when i disconnected the battery ground. I went through the process of re-entering time/date and the settings for lights delay and locks delay. Since I always set it to display the date I set it to show that. It showed the date for about three seconds then just displayed a bunch of lines, as if it reset. So I tried resetting it a couple of times and it still didn't retain the date. I tried shutting off the ignition, and turning it back on and it still did the same thing. Hopefully there is just a battery or capacitor in it that just needs to charge overnight or something, but I'm worried that I many have fried my HUD. Has anybody had this happen and know how to fix it, or are there any suggestions? I don't know how much new HUDs are but I guess I will look after this post. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Your talking about the DIC in the dash. Not the Hud on the windshield. Diver Information Center. I am pretty sure.

and if you are i'm about 90% sure it won't show the time as that was controlled by your factory radio therefor the DIC won't know the time

Yeah it is the DIC, sorry 'bout that. And thank you for the help. I thought that since it retained the date for a few seconds that it was something wrong with it. Is there anything I can do other then getting the $150 harness. Its not that I really need the date on there, but it does look like crap just displaying a bunch of lines. Thanks again!
