Thats what i thought is it had some kind of reason for being there. So wouldnt being just ziptied out in the open give it improper readings? I would think it would need to be somehow incorporated into the actual airflow of the intake like normal to get proper readings allowing the engine to run optimally? Correct?
Ah ok. i dont yet understand how all the sensors an stuff work. i can replace them an fix broken things and now build a 3800 but as far as tuning and exactly what all the sensors do and affect and what all their #s mean i have not yet learned. Hoping to in the future though.
I had mine zip tied for A LONG time...plus the fact when it is colder IMO it helps it being outside anyways. Maybe that is just me.
So just ziptie it onto the filter?
I guess that's how I'll probably set it up then, thanks bio.
I was going to add it to the base of the filter with a short piece of pipe but I guess it doesnt matter since the air inside the cone at that location will be same as air outside...
I got me a cone today and will slap that sucker on tomorrow....
thanks for the ZZP chart....that was exactly what I needed to see
Installed open cone today. You guys are right. The whine is addicting.
Ok. I am not home so I can't install the iac sensor so its just dangling for now but I am now getting a service engine soon light. Is that the iac or do I need to reset the computer? Or will it go off after it learns the new intake?
check engine light went off so its ok...but I am going relocate the iac into the airstream today so its at least halfass doing its job
haha..yes it was unplugged at one point. all is fine now. it is inserted in the 4 inch pipe I have before the cone. thanks
