    It makes the trans shift quiker and raises the shift points a bit.

    its really useless when you can tune your shifts in and out of performance shift mode to be the same. its good for someone who has an off the shelf tune though. i think no matter if im in it or not my shifting is the same.

    Unless you have a race tranny...my performance shift on and off makes a HUGE difference

    Most aftermarket PCM's will for cars without the performance shift button will be programmed for performance shifts all the time. If you did want to add the button, you could get a shifter from Ed Morad. There are instructions on the forum telling you how to connect it, and you'd have to get your PCM reprogrammed to make it work.

    It was only available on GTP's up to a certain year (2000 IIRC).

    Yup...and that is just based on the percentage of throttle...harder you push the pedal...harder and faster it'll shift...up to a point of course.
