First off.......I am a newbie and still learning about these cars as I have owned one for less than a month. Please advise on the following situation:

As I understand it, the traction control is supposed to be ON when the vehicle starts. The traction control is OFF when I do start it every time and also the LOW TRAC lights never come on when the traction control is supposed to be on(it doesn't appear to be working at all) Any ideas on where to start looking or troubleshooting. I don't mind so much, but I would rather have Trac Control for when the wife drives it in the winter. Where are the sensors for the LOW TRAC? and what actually controls the wheels so that they do not slip. I have looked on other posts, but haven't found much. Thanks for the help in advance........

Do your anti-locks work? Have you checked the fuse?

I think it is fuse 21 in the fuse box that is in the engine compartment. The fuse is responsible for antilocks, a/c, traction control and some steering assist deal

is the low trac light supposed to come on when the anti-locks are engaged or only for traction when accelerating?

Only when it detects wheel spin

no.........it does work.. Stepped on it hard and they engaged........ I can change it so that the traction control light goes to where it should be on and it stays there unless I touch the button again for it or re-start the vehicle........I am stumped on this. Is there a way that the previous owner could have modded it incorrectly to have the traction control off at vehicle start every time and somehow had made the traction control inoperable? The low trac light does work, it just never engages when I spin the tires.............

I can understand why it would start in that mode if that module is hooked up, but why wouldn't the traction control work at all, or sense when it has low traction( the traction control may actually work, but if it does not sense wheel spin, then I would guess that it would not or could not activate) So what could cause it not to sense wheel spin?
