Can anyone tell me if the DIC screen on a 2002 GTP is backlit ? If so would anyone have a picture of the bulbs behind the screen?
One side of mine just went dim. It has done this before once or twice, a small tap on the dash would make it come back on.

From what I have read I think some use LED's some use bulbs.

P.S. I have a 2002 GTP DIC for sale if you need another one.

If they come with either leds or bulbs i'm guessing my is using regular bulbs. My plan is to mod it to use either red smd led's or regular leds. This will give it a red look and not the orange/red it has now. If the screen is NOT backlit i'll be just looking to fix the problem. i have red smd's on order for the cluster already.

Its backlit. Remove the dash bezel, pop out the DIC, and there are a couple of #24 bulbs in twist sockets back there. Remove the bulb, and replace with a new #24. Replacement bulbs can be found at autozoo.

i just removed mine last night it's pretty simple.

    1. First remove the bottom cover on the drivers side (it has 2 plastic push-threw's hold it) it is also the piece that the light is connected to

    2. Then remove the panel that is under the steering wheel (2 screws on the bottom 1 under the steering wheel)

    3. Pull out the dash bezel (it is only held on by clips, but still be careful not to break any, also you'll have to unplug the fog light swtich)

    4. Look on the right side of the DIC and you will see a little clip pop that out and your home free, then you just have to undo the connector which is held in by 2 clips both blue 1 on top one underneath,

    5. almost forgot you have to remove the front plate on the DIC to get to the bulbs, along with unscrewing the 2 (T10) screws

they come stock backlit with bulbs...........you can switch to LED's but if you do, then I don't believe it will dim with your headlights at all..............from what I remember anyway don't count on this as 100% fact.
