Just wondering what the must do mods are
Do u have a gtp or a gt? Honestly if u can buy used stuff. I check on craigslist regularly and a lot of guys on here are sellin their parts for cheap. I would start with the basics like 180 tstat for $10, make ur own fender well intake for $50 tops with spare tubing or going to ace hardware for pcv tube. Then I say exhaust. Go with a better flowing downpipe. That will also get rid of that crappy u-bend before the carback. That helped me a lot. Get an off the shelf pcm. $100 and its worth it. And if u can get a front powerlog. It replaces the stock front manifold. Anyone else?
750$
-welded pacesetters (50$ to get welded) 450$
-DIY FWI 50$
-180 stat 10$
-colder plugs AL104's 12$
-press on 3.4 50$
-good ass tune from a person with a hp tuner 100-150$
=fun ass DD and money for beer left over....if you have a gtp....if not blow it on a cam![]()
I've got an SS IC (475 new from another member), ebay intake w/9" k&n ($50), custom exhaust ($340) and will be getting an ecu (100-169) and dropping pulley sizes (price varies, im estimating around 60-135).
If I where you I'd get the ecu, intake (def a noticeable difference), downpipe/ubend delete (made a big difference)- $120 from zzp, front plog - $120. That's 390 right there. You might be able to drop down to a 3.6 or a 3.5 but definitely scan for KR.
im looking for mods to i have around 400$ to spend i know its not alot i have an 04 gtp comp g id like to get a new exhaust but i kno it would cost alot more than 400 for a nice exhaust any cheap mods i can do that would make a noticeable difference and also not void the powertrain warranty
contact TDCRACING, a member here, he has the best and least expensive setup around.
What is a good off the shelf pcm to get and what are the benifits of it??? Also whatis a good site to buy these mods off of?
i think i will go with a 3.4 pully, CAI, 3"downpipe and a good tune.
Jus to save everyone else the trouble... Hold off on the pulley until you get enough air flowing... No a CAI and DP doesnt flow enough air : ) good luck with your mods... If you want a good sounding SC theres a guy on here that does a bomb job for a really fair price...
I would say cam, intercooler, headers, CAI/FWI, u-bend delete, rockers, 180tstat, colder plugs w better wires, good tune... thats a good set up for a pretty small pulley... I wouldnt go that low on your DD... you could get by with less... wouldnt reccomend it but it could be done... thrashercharged.com sales a package deal w a few mods...
I think I will go with a K&N CAI, 3" downpipe, headers(can someone reccommend me a good pair)and an off the shelf pcm. Also what are rockers and what does a 180tstat do??
P.S could someone estimate what my 1/4mile time would be with those mods
Im not much for estimating track times... depends on many variables... driver...climate... you get the picture... a 180* thermostat should be one of the very first mods you take into consideration... it will run you no more than 10$ and its exactly what its described as... a lower degree thermostat... I think stock is 195* but dont quote me on that... If you buy a K&N intake your jus wasting your money... I did it... It was dumb so I sold it and made my own for about 87$ its a good way to save money and you will see a better result from making your own vs. K&N... There are several write ups on how to do it and you need very little skill to get it done... As far as the headers go... the only one you can afford on a budget are the Pacesetters... never used them but im sure some one will let you know how they turned out on your car... you have enough money to build a decent car... jus do your research before you blow it on junk... If you need anything myself and the fellow members of GPF will be glad to point you in the right direction...
thanks and how come you see better performence from the intakes you make yourself

Should cost no more that 90$ and you will see a tremendous gain over stock... not to mention the fact you have 200$ left for more parts...
Yup...price and function. That and save your money and get some Pacesetter's and have them welded...for the price you can't beat it.
