Now that's what I want to do. The fwi. Thank you!!!!!!!!!! Damn I've been trying to figure that out for I don't know how long. A freggin pcm. I had a feeling that's what it was, but I just wanted to be sure. Ok, I'm sure I can google a place to put it. I was scared to leave it out in the open because its "in" the air cleaner box. I figured it was in there for a reason, so I'm like I didn't want to mess with it. Thanx a ton guys. This website is great because the members are so freggin informative!!!!! Thanx a lot guys. So what ill do is unplug the batt, unplug the wires to the pcm, relocate it somewhere (where I have no clue) and then run the fwi, or behind my headlight until I can get the tdc intake (yes I'm still getting it, dead serious dude)

they just put it there to keep it from being exposed, although it doesnt really matter, no water gets in the engine compartment anyways, just dont spray it with water or anything like that

You don't have to unplug it man...just undo the box around it...mine has sat in the fender where it was to begin with...no zip ties...no PCM tray...nothin...never moves...ever.

Man, I just typed this long reply out and it didn't post. Anway I said thanx for your help, and I said these forums are the shiznit becuz the members are so informative. I can't believe its a pcm. I've had a feeling that's what that thing was but I wasn't 100% sure. So I can take the pcm out, relocate it (I don't know where lol) and run the intake fwi, or behind the headlight. That'll work. I'm sure I can google a good spot to move it to. I probably should unplug the batt before I unplug the wires to the pcm correct?

Sorry, my reply did post. I don't know what happened. Sorry for asking 1000 questions. I just want to make sure I do it right is all. Ok, ill do that. Undo the box and run it the way I planned. Appreciate it guys. It looks really freggin bootleg with the top of the airbox sawed off and a big red filter sitting in it. Lol. Ill get back to working on it this weekend. I might have a friend of mine fab a little "shelter" for the pcm. Thanx again for all ur help. I never did stuff like this, so I just like to ask a lot of questions to avoid me screwing up. I can do normal things, changes brakes, serp belts, replace alt, radiator, stuff like that. When it comes to putting stuff on a car that wasn't origionally there, I get a little nervous. Lol

Just bolt the crap on and if it doesn't work keep trying until you throw a wrench...you'll take a breath and the revelation will hit you like a ton of bricks on how to fix it...at least...that is how it always happens to me...and I think it happens a lot because there are all these damned dents in my fender

Lmao, it happens to me 2 because I can never have a normal day when it comes to stuff like that. When I was taking the airbox out the 1st time my freggin wratchet broke. I'm like what the hell man!!! Why can things ever go smooth for me under the hood. There's always some foolish bafoonery involved. I just have bad luck lol. At the end of the day its a gm so it can't be that hard to make mods to this car.

Ok, this makes no sense to me. I put in the intake, and I'm getting lower mpg highway, and more mpg street? (At least from what the info gauge is telling me) I don't understand that. I WAS getting around 17-19 street now (38-40 mpg between 38-40 mph) highway I WAS getting 26-28 mpg NOW like 16-18 mpg highway. What gives?

Yeah, it will...maybe your PCM takes longer to relearn the difference in the amount of air coming in...

Trims will be different with a cold or hot air intake compared to the stock air box. The DIC display goes off of those trims. If those trims are off. So are your readings.

Oh, guys one last question, does the size of the filter matter? Also I'm running it in the fenderwell but a little deep into it (like closer to the foglight) how often should I clean the filter when its right there? It seems like the brake dust will get to it. It might be a bad idea if I have to take my tire off, and the fender liner every freggin month to clean that thing.

Well think about...would a tiny filter help you? Not really...find the biggest thing you can shove in there...gotta pop the cherry sometimes.

Sorry guys. I paniced. I unplugged the batt for about 10 mins. Plugged it back up and BOOM it was working again. Is it just me, but I did a test drive before and after the batt unplug. It seems like the car pulled HARDER since I unplugged the batt. I had the peddle halfway down both times and I finally feel the difference. Only problem is there's a big az speed knot in my freggin bumper (on the lower drivers side) becuz the filter is 2 big. So ill have 2 buy a smaller one becuz I can't take looking at that knot on my freggin car. It looks like a freggin pimple on my car. Its terrible. Besides that I'm pretty much almost done. Well I'm done nevermind. Just have 2 get a smaller filter, but thanx for putting up with my 2000 dumb az noob questions guys. My car was running hot from that freggin sri set up so I have 2 get more antifreeze. Anyway thanx guys. Now I can move on to another mod lol.

Bluegtp u crack me up man. Pop the cherry? Lol man I've heard it all. Lol.
