it wont help you at all.

So...just wondering what you're path is mod wise...like which ones are you doing next and so forth...a ported TB is nice but you really don't need one yet. I would say swing for it and buy it but don't install it until you're totally done with your 3.4" plus supporting mod setup. Another thing about a ported TB is they throw your tune off so you'd be needing a custom tune then. I'd be willing to bet there is someone here around the Chi-Town area that knows their way around a HPT or DHP Tuner program to help you out when the time comes:th_winking:
No, they want ME to purchase the lic for the W Body car, then charge me 400-450 to tune it even tho its a stock head and cam.
As for the mod path, I have a FWI and a 180 stat installed already, I have the 3" off road DP and Power log sitting in my garage now, they will be installed this weekend. Next week ill order the 3.4 pulley when I decide who im getting the pcm done by and install those 2 at the same time. I may do rockers later in the month or next month. I may also consider a meth injection kit just for the hell of it but not for sure yet. But I came seen a pretty good deal on a HV 72mm ZZP TB so was wondering if with those mods it would be helpfull.

I was reading the tech articles on the ZZP site and they claim to have picked up a couple tenths with this part with minimal other mods?

K found it thanks. So this guy tunes to your specific setup? What kind of turn around time have you guys been seeing with him?

yeah. they like to claim a lot about their parts. take it with a big grain of salt.
a throttle body barely does anything until you are pretty decently modded. youre not ready yet.

Re: Just got a GTP, have a few questions for the experts
Just wait on the pulley...get the PCM...and get some plugs and wires too...

Car dont need wires, only got 64xxx on the clock, I have read many of places and from many shops the factory wires are the best on these type of ign setups on GM cars. As for the plugs thats a given with the pulley I figured. Pulley, plugs and pcm will all be installed as 1 mod.

It's debatable. Plus if you're putting plugs in good luck taking stock wires off and on...most of the time they rip and you're forced to get new ones anyway...I just look at it as if you're there and you can, why not upgrade. And as for the ignition...it is the coil packs. They are very good from the factory and the MSD Blaster Coils "apparently" show a decrease in HP on a dyno but I don't buy it...I just bought them for the name and the eye candy.

dont know about turn around time. i did buy my rockers from canada (which will told me about) and had them in about 4-5 business days.
yes overkill tunes specifically to your mods.

Re: Just got a GTP, have a few questions for the experts
Overkill's turn around time is about a week, maybe slightly longer.

Re: Just got a GTP, have a few questions for the experts
and hes new version 4 is now editable by HP tuners.

Re: Just got a GTP, have a few questions for the experts
OK...so I just put that down pipe on and 2 things....1. it feels like its touching the body of the car when I first accelerate and when I floor it, I can feel it whats the fix for that? Very annoying. 2. I dont like how the exhaust sounds it got louder and sounds like a beater lol kinda like an old 3.1 corsica I had for a work beater back in the day with no muffler just not as loud, how can I quiet it back down to near stock noise levels??

Re: Just got a GTP, have a few questions for the experts
it is probably hitting your sway bar. flip it over. if it is hitting the bottom of your car youre going to have to use some persuasion on the bottom of the car with a hammer.
if you have a stock exhaust there really isnt much more you can do to quiet it down.

I didnt think it was touching anything.....but if it takes some cinvincing to get the bottom of the car to move then so be it lol Now what if I add a high flow cat or another resinator like a straight through one that wont obstruct exhaust flow, think that would quiet her down?
-
Re: Just got a GTP, have a few questions for the experts
yeah, another resonator might be helpful. or you could take out your stock one and replace it with a new one. could be that it is old and worn out.

If you still have the stock resonator then there isn't much you can add but a cat...but if you do that there is still a chance that it will throw a code too as the PCM sometimes won't recognize a high flow converter.

i have a 2.5" high flow cat and my car is fine. doesnt throw a code.

Re: Just got a GTP, have a few questions for the experts
it shouldent get much louder with a downpipe. did you get the gasket in it good and all sealed up??
-
Re: Just got a GTP, have a few questions for the experts
When I put on my cat'd downpipe, mine didn't get louder but the sound became more "detailed" if that makes sense. It was an improvement.
I have no resonator with a couple Magnaflow XL mufflers.

Re: Just got a GTP, have a few questions for the experts
what i was told is that zzp has someone else do their tunes. get your tune from tdc (this site) or intense.... if u do any exhaust mods, and u should. go straight to headers. don't fool with d/p or plogs...get headers, wish i had..
