I have a galaxy metallic silver 02 Grand Prix GT (3.8 engine, sunroof, cloth seats) she has 87K miles but is VERY clean, I take good care of her and have a K&N CAI, and a red top Optima battery, I run Amsoil synthetic oil/ filters in her.

I am a college student and have about 800 bucks to spend on her tops. I will never take this car to a strip and race her. She is a daily driver and I just like having a well tuned, smooth and reliable car that will last me a long time.

I know the above isn't usual for this kind of forum but really I'm far more interested in making money, getting married and making babies than racing a four door sedan . . .when I get out of college I'll buy something that I can mod out and go race . . .something built from the ground up to go fast. . . .so now that you know what I have and what I am looking for I

What I really want to do

    1. Dress up the engine bay. I need help with color schemes and ideas of what specific products to buy.

    2. I'm thinking of getting a U bend delete and MAYBE a PLOG.

    3. Exhaust might change but really I want a fairly quiet ride, I don't want to buzz bomb or rumble down the road.

    4. Lighting mods. . . what do angel eyes look like at night just normally driving no brights or fog lights on? (pics appreciated)

Also are clear corners DOT legal? can you still see a turn signal without the yellow plastic in place?

Fog lights? what do you guys reccomend?

    5. im thinking of getting heated seats for both front seats. . .can this be installed by me or is it best to be brought in?

    6. Outside appearance mods- I am thinking of getting a new gril/ air dam pieces in a silver color. . .any suggestions?

    7. I've read so much stuff on spark plug wires I simply don't know what to do. . ..

Lastly does anybody have a program that lets a rookie user take a picture of their car and then lets them see what it would look like if they changed a color scheme or added something? I am guessing photoshop but any others?

    Hey Snake,
It looks like you have a good list started. Angel eyes are nice and they look good too.
Clear corners you can find those on ebay and the bulb you might want to use with those are silver that turn amber when the lights are turned on, I can't remember the exact name but someone should post it soon if not I'll find that info for you.
Grills? some guys make their own, someone may be selling some or get them new.
There are so many options with your car as far as color schemes go. Window tint is always good.
There are several GP, 3800 sites around that have parts for sale you can always get used parts like headers or exhaust and sometimes you can score a good deal. Ed Morad deals in Pontiac parts they are used and priced very good if you need it I would bet he has it.
Don't get cheap spark plug wires. One reason is if you have replaced your HU or have a better system than stock you will hear a high pitched whine with cheap wires. Just look around the different sections and ask questions if you wanna know something.
Ubend delete is a good thing to do it's an obstruction in the exhaust system. Seems there was just a thread on that very subject.
You should like it here, there is a lot of good info just check it out.

I don't understand what your getting at. You want a DD and don't want to do much work but you want to do exhaust work and stuff? If its your DD then drive it. If you wanna show off then do stuff.

I think he pretty much answered everything.

If you plan on keeping the car for a while and do not intend on racing it why not go the luxury route? The Japanese VIP (pronounced like whip) trend applied to a 4-door gp would be kinda cool. Well maybe not the VIP style but go classy.VIPStyleCars.com - Content - Articles - My thoughts on VIP Style Cars http://ls400.wordpress.com/what-is-vip-style/While some purists might say American cars like this can never be "VIP", the fact that a Chysler 300C has been seen on the cover of VIPStyle magazine in Japan is a strong counterpoint to that statement.

you wouldnt have to go as far as a body kit or air ride but make it classy. Gotti style. Nice wood trim.No color schemes or colored wire loom or painted plastics on the inside. Put some lowering springs and some wide lipped wheels on it and call it done on the exterior.
