morads shipping isnt bad, my L32 was $130 to freight it from ohio to jersey. i hope you will go over the junkyard motor before putting it into the car

why not run the L32? coated pistons, powdered rods....low compression is more forgiving. plus its a newer, probably lower mileage motor

what he said. unless youre going high compression and getting an l36 or l26 block, which in that case would be even better.

Not sure what you mean by getting it rebuilt but I will get the L32 with 29k miles for $1050 shipped thats what I' going to order tommorow morning. It comes with the S/C and everything on it. I think its a great deal compared to what I was going to get for 2k. I think if I had the chance to get a L26 with the L32 heads and the Gen V S/C for the same price I would do it but I doubt I can find that for the same price. Being that I still have to get the tranny done too.

why would you not replace the bearings and the rings? how do you know this complete engine isnt hydrolocked or blown? i dont get guys buying junkyard engines and putting them into cars without even checking them

I know what your saying but they do come with a 90 day warranty not great but something, if it wasn't for some type of warranty most people wouldn't buy them.

Rebuilding the 3800 is a fine art. Most rebuilds don't last as long as a virgin bottom end and start throwing copper. If I have to by a long block, I'll tear it down to the short block but no further.

Ask Farns how hard it is to rebuild this engine properly.

I was told the same thing, your better getting a low mileage engine versus a rebuilt one, because more likely than not the low mileage one will last you longer and you might spend around the same.
