Nope, easy as pie. electric or mechanic oil pressure gauge?

vacuum all you need is a "T" and some vacuum line.

ok cool, he said that the boost gauge come with the tubing and everything you need to instal it but he never hooked up the oil pressure. bubt it is a mechanic one, it is the one with a needle not digital or anything lol

i bet you money the oil pressure is digital. unless you run an oil line to it (bad idea to have that in the cabin if you ever develop a leak) all you do is run a wire from the oil pressure sender that you have to install in place of the low oil light sending unit.

well if you mean digital as in a bunch of little lights it not, the background lights up and there is a neon orange needle that goes up and down lol

no, digital as in you dont need to run an oil line to it. that is what is meant by digital.

there are no digital gauges, they either read mechanically or electronically.

I do not like the electric oil pressure sending units, ive never had luck with them, I have always run an oil line into the cockpit, if you use the right fittings, you dont have to worry about leaks.

Ill correct myself now before the even pickier ride my ass. There are no digital signals on guages.

If you use copper line NOT NYLON with copper ferrels** and nut it wont ever leak, I always put some good old petroleum jelly once I tighten the copper down, oil cant penetrate it so it wont leak.

D, what gauges did you get? colors?

These were in my last cockpit, my mino.

    VDO pro cockpit series.

AM Pro Comp liquid filled water temp
AM Phantom boost gauge, Thats a 5900 rpm reading on the vacuum gauge, looks like 3 psi on an N/A motor.....hmmm

Also the Pro Comp 10K rpm Tach Pillar mounted.

I eventually made the gauge panels out of brushed sheet aluminum, still had the quick access on the old radio/hvac control area (gold panel).

Take a pic of the backside of the guage, it will either have nothing but electrical studs/spades or it will have a small diameter threaded section thats gold in color.

The oil gauge is mechanical I know cuz Im the one that sold him it lol. So this thread is useless as any questions could have easily been pm'd to me. I also told him in a pm I would be more then happy to help with the install. Geesh

Very true but it is what it is.

Did you use nylon or copper sending line?
