Thought I would start this thread now to get it going.
This is the “official” thread regarding my issue mentioned in my introductory thread.
It seems that the car has a bad vibration accelerating. More so pronounced on acceleration, even worse when turning or going around curves under acceleration. Forget about anything above 70mph, feels like the challenger shuttle on re-entry.
I believe it’s the cv’s causing this, mostly due in part to the car being “slammed” for lack of a better term. I was thinking about replacing the cv’s and going back to OEM suspension. However, I like the look. But, at the same time, I am getting older, a disabled vet who has major, major back issues, and it is fairly difficult to get in and out. That said, maybe OEM is the right choice.
I would replace struts and springs first, but this vibration is so bad it needs to be addressed first and foremost.
Stay tuned and I will make sure to post pictures and lots of description as I go forward, until then, it’s off to work I go after dinner, have a great evening!

Maybe I’ll get to work on her this weekend. Had some ot this week due to Indy car testing, completely worn out, have to finish some work at the barn tomorrow as well as blow leaves in the backyard. Just an update to say I haven’t forgotten, just been stupid busy with work.

Well, been a busy few weeks. Haven’t had the chance to do much. But, a new issue has arisen, or rather I’m noticing it because I have been trying to figure out when exactly it happens.
Here’s the issue. The car is surging, or rather, trans slipping. She’s fine under heavy acceleration and even moderate. But, when in drive, it will surge like a slip repeatedly. I tested it going up hill this morning. Let it get into od and settled, starts surging/slipping, give a bit of gas, it comes out of lockup (I think) and the issue goes away entirely. To verify that it was not downshifting to third, once it exited lock up and the issue stopped, I shifted to third, and it downshifted. So I think 4th(?) is still good. Just the converter is failing. What do you all think? I tried searching and the only thread I found had three posts with no solution (don’t you just hate that!).

trans or possible engines surging?

Definitely not the engine. 100% trans acting weird. It only does it during lock up.

RE; vibration - if you are significantly lowered it messes up the CV angle. do you have shortened dogbones, they move the engine forward to relieve some of the angle. other option is cradle spacers.
for your trans issue read this TCC rpm oscillation and see if it describes your symptoms

I’ll read it on my lunch, the vibration I’m pretty sure is that, I’m going back up with it, not a fan of big drops. Cv’s will be replaced as well as I have no clue how long it’s been lowered.

I’m done. I moved from big bear to ridgecrest to get away from the snow in March, what happens? It follows me! To the damn desert!!!! Ridiculous.

At least it shouldn't last to long in the desert.
2/3's of Oregon is high desert and it's buried in snow and ice right now

My parents are up in Oregon right now at my sisters. Somewhere like 16ish hours from big bear. All I know is she is the big wig for some guitar company. They said it’s freezing balls up there right now. Supposedly we are getting snow tonight as well as tomorrow. Big bear is shut down, went R3 about 1300, shut down at about 1530ish.

The vibration is more than likely the cv’s. Just need to get to fixing it.
On the tcc issue, if I lightly touch the brake pedal while accelerating, it will exit lockup and the issue goes away. Hopefully it’s not rebuild time. I’ll try a trans filter and fluid change first, see if anything improves. As of right now time just isn’t on my side.

Well, I had plans to finish up Christmas gifts this weekend, then work on the car, but, plans changed, main line water supply from meter to house broke last night. Spent the whole night digging to repair, did a quick fix just bypassing the secondary valve, so house has water now, but the backyard next to the house is a marsh. Digging all that up, framing in a box for all water fittings, gravel all around and laying new sod. Super.

I will definitely take before and after photos. Going to change the whole backside of the house up. Do we have a thread anywhere for like “what did you do to your house today” or anything like that?

Well then. After screwing with ups for my zzp packages, I finally got one, the other is delayed. It’s been a battle. Unfortunately I have to find somewhere else to purchase stuff for the car now, I won’t use anyone that uses ups, every single package I have ordered that ships ups is always either delayed or lost.
Now the good, I ordered the 1” shorter bones for it, vibration completely gone. And yes I rotated the square ones the bones bolt up to. Soooo much more pleasing to drive. Here’s the other interesting part. The slippage or whatever it was doing in od, went away as well. Just weird all over. Now I have to replace the rack, it’s leaking. To the tune of power steering whine about every two weeks if I let the fluid go that long. But, wow, it’s so nice being able to go a bit faster and accelerate quickly without my teeth vibrating out of my head! Oh, and I put in the anti pogo washers, they do as described that’s for sure.

Oh, and one more thing, this was my last purchase from ZZP. After the shipping issues and them manipulating the dates so they did not have to refund shipping and saying that I was wrong when I have screenshots that show otherwise, I will not deal with a company like that.

They honored my shipping return request. He wanted to poke a little fun that it was $16 being refunded. It was the actual principal in the matter. When a service is paid for, it should be rendered to the customer. That said, when I get gas at Albertsons tonight, I will be donating it to the st judes children’s hospital request that comes up on screen.
Just put the led bulbs in as well. Really need to install new housings. They are haggard. But, the bulbs from what I see in the daylight should help me out a lot. Everyone knows how dark the high desert is at night, maybe now I’ll be able to see the next upcoming curve. I do have the road to work memorized, but it’s nice to have vision.

On the headlights, anyone else running the zzp led bulbs? I think it’s just cause my OEM housings suck. But, it’s bright, brighter than the 90007XV halogens I had in there. Low beam is pretty bright, high beam seems to give more distance, but are a bit dimmer. I pulled it into one of the shops at work and cut the lights, rotated bulbs and adjusted height. It made them brighter, but it just seems like high beam looses a lot of light output.
