When I am reversing out of the drive way and put the car on drive I hear a clanking noise when it begins to move forward, happens almost every time. Has anyone else had this noise, it's really annoying.

I did re use the same ones. Not sure how that would cause one single clanking sound after the car is shifted into drive. Its a single clank as soon as i take off but only happens when the car is backed up then goes forward.

It could be lots of things, mounts for sure. I have never had a clunk, change right CV shaft, get random clunk. Thus why I hate changing OE parts. LOL

It's possible it's the brake pads in the caliper bracket.

I tried picking up the noise but it wasn't loud enough. I did however notice that the noise occurred when I turned the wheel to the right BEFORE even shifting to drive. I tried recreating the noise but it seems to be evading me now. So a quick break down, I back up, turn wheel to right ready to pull into drive and I hear a clank/popping sound.

busted ball joint you say? nah that cant make a clunk sound.....change that asap before you crash the car. and yes it can clunk all over town.

Quick update, I got the passenger side joint fixed but thats not where the noise was coming from. In that last few weeks its gotten really loud and it has nothing to do with shifting, its all steering and seems to be coming from the driver side. When i turn the wheel specially at a stand still or very low speeds I hear a loud throbbing clanking popping type noise. It does it a little bit when the cars jacked up and you wiggle the wheel. Everything has been replaced recently lca, bearings even the whole axle shaft, the only thing that I havent replaced this year is the tie rod. Upon inspecting it it seemed fine no leaks anywhere and the outer tie rod seem to have good resistance when i moved it around. Now im doubting this could be it, its hot as hell out and id hate to replace this part if theres something else someone can point out.
