So I'm in the process of purchasing a 7th gen Grand Prix and found this one that's semi close but will still be a bit of a drive. I don't want to waste time to see it if it isn't worth fixing. The seller responded to a post that I had stating this:
"have an 04 just replaced spark plugs, air filter, getting an alignment done on wednesday, has a new transmission with 25,000 miles on it, i just bought it sunday and idk what the problem is i press down on the gas pedal and it doesn't accelerate right away and then after like 5 seconds it just takes off"
After messaging her I spoke with her more in depth about the problem. She stated that it didn't happen until about an hour into the trip home from purchasing it herself. She had this to add:
"when u first take of the car only goes about 10mph and then 5 seconds later itll speed up"
So all in all I guess I'm trying to figure out what the actual problem could be. Low fluid from a leak? Bad tranny? Something else that could be wrong? For what she's asking I could afford about 1K in repairs so perhaps it would be worth it? Anyways I hope you guys can give me some input!
