The cruise control on my 04 grand prix isn't working. I took out the cc switch to test it with a multimeter. Does anyone know what values I should be getting, with the power button pressed in I get 8.25 kOhms which doesn't seem right.

Sorry I should have mentioned that the lights are working. Plus i found out the cc switch has three resistors in it and one is 8.25 kohms, and the pink wire that leads to the switch gives 12V with the key on.
It seems like my switch isn't very responsive because I can get it to work it just takes a couple attempts.
Search on a guy named Highoctaneracing, I believe Kyle had this same issue and it should be pretty well documented.

Is this what you're talking about? I have already removed the switch before, I ended up taking the steering off to see what I was doing. Thanks though.
No.. I suggested searching on a guy here on the forum named HighOctaneRacing. While that may be his instruction, it's not the troubleshooting he did on this forum to figure out what was wrong.
I did, that's how I found that link... Maybe you could be a little more specific, is there any keyword I should search with his name?
Well anyway, I ended up taking the switch out and cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and reapplied some dielectric grease. Works like a charm now![]()
Did you clean the switch contacts out at the end of the stock, or down in the multi switch where it bolts on?
I opened up the switch, there is a small pcb and a weird plastic block that makes contact with the pcb. I cleaned those up and reapplied dielectric grease.
