Hard to say.. You may or may not have valve float... Think about it this way.. I'm sure your valve train has decent miles on it wouldn't you rather go ahead and throw on new springs, valve seals etc while your in there. I would never run rockers without replacing at least those.

I'm not even going to say, "you might be able to get away with stock springs."

If you leave your old worn stock springs in there, you're an idiot. Replace with some L76 Springs from a G8, like what I have. $45 for a whole set shipped or you can buy them at the dealer for the same price. They also have a very low lash rate, so it's easy on the chain / dampener. These springs are great for a rocker setup shifting around 6,000.

Ever plan on going a cam, these springs will not work.

You'll need modified retainers, replace the seals, and even the valve locks for safe keepings. (No pun intended). Do it right the first time and call it a day.

Okay sounds great. My car only has 85k so I figured I would check. Would the #90 ls6 ones do the job? Have an importunity to buy zzp 1.9 modified rockers and the springs for 200 shipped(20K miles on them). Think I'm going to pull the trigger.

Yes those will work just fine.

The only reason I didn't go that route, is because those springs wear on the timing chain dampener more, and will have to replace it sooner than with the L76 springs.
