    I'm not even going to say, "you might be able to get away with stock springs."

    If you leave your old worn stock springs in there, you're an idiot. Replace with some L76 Springs from a G8, like what I have. $45 for a whole set shipped or you can buy them at the dealer for the same price. They also have a very low lash rate, so it's easy on the chain / dampener. These springs are great for a rocker setup shifting around 6,000.

    Ever plan on going a cam, these springs will not work.

    You'll need modified retainers, replace the seals, and even the valve locks for safe keepings. (No pun intended). Do it right the first time and call it a day.
