Don't think ZZP used msd wire ends. PRJ did. Or they could be straight up msd wires.
Dont know why some are knocking on the car?
zzp sells their own 10.5 mm wires...and coils

UPDATE: Well I got up early and drove 2 1/2 hrs to see the car this morning. A few chips and dings, no visible rust, all strut mounts are rust free and very solid. If the rockers are rusting they haven't gotten close to the paint yet. Interior is cleaner than anybody could expect. No cracks in the leather seats, etc. Kenwood aftermarket deck with that cool lighted GTP panel insert and Bose speakers in the doors. Everything worked and a/c blows nice and cold.
I asked "what does the 3.4 pulley mean and what are the supporting mods?" As you guys predicted, he has a 3" downpipe, U-bend delete, and hi-flow CAT, while the cat-back system is stock. The front exhaust manifold looked stock. He's running the cooler plugs, HD wires and that custom airbox. He put the stock t-stat back in so he could get some heat in cold weather LOL. Also said LIM was done and has receipts for the work.
Car drove great! Aamco trans rebuild 15k ago (saw the receipt, $3500, OUCH....), warranty is up but fluid is clean and it shifts solid. Car pulls nice in all gears, shifts crisply and gets it done.
Long story short, we closed the deal at $3500. I gave him a $500 deposit and will head back on Sat with a trailer to pick it up and finish the deal.
The deal also includes all the original parts, stock airbox, supercharger pulley and belt. I'm thinking of returning it to stock, stock airbox, wires, plugs, and SC pulley (no going back on the exhaust). Question is if I do that will the 3" downpipe and ZZP tune hurt performance? Should I return the tune to stock too?Anybody do the 3.4" mod and wish they didn't? I like to go faster than the next guy, but this will be a daily driver and want the motor to last another 100k. Gimme some feedback.
BTW, the CL posting is down, but will snap some pics and post when I pick up the car on Sat.
ON edit....the driver's outside mirror glass seemed disconnected from the part that moves it around, it just kind of flops around. Anyone know a good source for replacement mirrors?

3.4 pulley on just a downpipe is kinda pushing it, the air box and plug wires have zero effect on kr. If you still do want it, find a way to scan the car and take it out on another test drive and scan for kr. If you see any kr just walk away. With proper supporting mods a 3.4 setup is great for a dd.

of course there's no way to say for sure without scanning , but with just a downpipe , i'd venture to say it's probably getting some KR. if you don't demod , i'd get the zzp powerlog asap.

i seriously doubt the level of modding you have is hurting the engine. all that's been done is the way it SHOULD have come from the factory. the stock exhaust design is very restrictive and chokes the engine in it's own exhaust. all the mods have done is allow the engine to breathe better. which is where the extra HP comes from.
if he put the modular pulley system on , you'll need a supercharger pulley puller to get the hub off and press the old pulley back on, otherwise you'll have to buy a modular 3.8 pulley.
most of these cars came from the factory with 4-6 degrees of knock because of the crappy exhaust setup. the Ubend behind the cat and the front manifold being 30% smaller than the rest of the system is the source of that knock. the 3 inch DP and the zzp plog corrects those flaws. you wouldn't be doing the car any favors by going back to stock. plus both my front and rear stock manifolds in my 2000 with 118,000 have both already cracked. it's a common problem. didn't even know the front was cracked till i took the heat shield off to replace it with the plog.
the only downside to your mods is the colder copper plugs need changed more often...15k miles or so. but at $2 a plug it's not a big deal other than having to actually change them.
not bad but yea definitely find a way to scan for KR. Also, just leave the MPS on because if you go back to a stock pulley and that fails later on, you'll need a puller tool again. MPS should have been a factory part IMO.
Thanks guys. I own it now, so will post some better pics of the motor after I pick it up on Sat and we can go from there. Honestly I am inclined to de-mod it. Anybody wanna buy a CAI?
I'd say add a couple more supporting mods and the 3.4 will work just fine. Powerlog and 1.9 rockers, and 180° if you want to. That would be completely safe. And the trans has been done, whats there to loose with the 3.4?
My ideal fun dd GP would be a 3.4 setup with a built trans. If you're gonna drive an automatic, the trans had better shift darn good lol

get all the parts off he car you wanna sell ...take pictures and start a thread in the sale section....after you demod and go for your first drive you'll regret it...lol
and yes you should get the pcm flashed back to original files. i've read zzp pcm's tend to run rich , so you'll get worse fuel mileage when you're back to stock or have it retuned. plus you'll likely throw a code because of that high flow cat. the code is disabled in the pcm, which won't be if you go back to the stock files.
so basically you'll pay more money to demod the car so it'll run worse ...![]()

i gave you a link to read what is commonly done to a reprogrammed pcm
http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...P-1-0-PCM.aspx
...things like the timing advanced , cooling fans come on at 185 instead of 210, transmission line pressure increased for better shifting, and other things...you'll lose that when you demod.
hey it's your car and you can do what you want , i'm just saying if you like the way it runs now , it won't be the same car if you demod it.
BUT..as for the mods you have now , get that front manifold off of there if you keep that smaller pulley on.
look at this and read it.. and the reviews

Yeah, definitely get a powerlog for that.Hell, you should get one even if you run a factory size pulley. The front manifolds on these are cast and more restrictive than the rear which is already welded pipe and not cast.I've got one on my na gp, no cracking or issues, been on there for a few years.
your setup is just a bit incomplete is all.. the owner should've replaced that front mani with the $140 plog before he pissed away $350 on those plug wires and airbox, the engine would've been much happier and safer.
if you got the modular pulley system on and your not comfortable with your set up , you can always buy bigger pulleys. they sell 3.5 and 3.6. it takes 5 minutes to change them.the smaller the pulley the more dangerous it is for your engine without the right supporting mods. if the 3.4 scares you, put a 3.6 on.
well you can invest in an aeroforce scan gauge ...$230
http://zzperformance.com/3800/gauge-...can-gauge.html
or
buy an obd2 bluetooth adapter and an android app that you can use with an android device , like a phone or a tablet.
you can get the adaptor for anywhere from $10 or more. then you buy the torque pro app for $5 and download it.
i got this one.
http://www.amazon.com/BAFX-Products-.../dp/B005NLQAHS
and i use an android tablet with it.
this is torque pro..

read this if you don't understand fully what knock retard is, or does to your engine

t app, a set of headers, or a front plog. and keep the 3.4 on it. the zzp tune its got will do. it will feel better then a stock pcm, and no mods thats for damn sure.
Well since you bought it do as EHB said, front plog and an aeroforce or torque.
I would also buy a 3.5 pulley just in case.
As far as the intake, sell it on Craigslist then put that money towards the plog. Leave everything else alone.
Search the for sale section on here or clubgp, I am sure you could get a good deal on most of what you need.
