Went to install my new LED bulbs, purchased from Diode dynamics. Have to say, what excellent bulbs they are! Very bright and worth every penny. My 2002 GTP has the sunroof option, so I don't have the overhead console. I just have the two map lights and the sunroof switch. Well I took my flathead and gently pulled down on the cover, releasing the clips. I put the lights in, everything went easy. When I went to reinstall the cover, I noticed that there is a plastic ring inside the headliner that has the slots for the clips to engage.
The problem is, this plastic ring is just flopping around inside the headliner now. Whenever I try to push up on the cover, this ring moves and I cant engage the clips to hold it in place. I pulled the ring out, and I see one spot on the ring that faces the windshield where there is evidence of some kind of glue, looks like gorilla glue. But I dont see any other provisions to hold this thing in place up there.
So my question is, what holds this ring down other than that glue? Should I just re-glue it in place and forget about it? It's hard to get much room up there, so I'm not sure how to go about this... any insight you guys can offer is much appreciated!
