Can a 3.8 Series III alternator be used on a Series II S/C GTP. I have a 2006 Buick Lacross with the later and need an alternator on the GP now but not wanting to fry anything. I believe the amp of the GP now is 110 and the Buick is 120. Is this usable or will it fry things in the long run.

Don't risk it. Just buy a rebuilt alternator. Try and find one with a lifetime warranty so if it breaks, you get another for free.

Yea it will bolt up and work no problem as long as you have a 99? and up alternator bracket. The plug might need to be swapped over but I don't remember. I plan on running a 04 alt if / when my stocker ever dies.
