Got the wheel balanced for free, and picked up some thread locker.
cleaned up the garage while waiting on the 3 wheel bearing bolts for 07 gp. made quite a mess having to grind the old hub off where the bolts go into it. replaced the tie rod and driver cv axle yesterday, tomorrow ill have the bolts and she should be driving good tomorrow afternoon.
today i lapped my valves cause they was nasty as hell.
before.
after. the exhaust valve went back in and got more work done to it. so it matched the intake one there. a;; the intake valves were jet black . did em all.
before head seat.
after.
then put the valve seals on, and the springs and bolted me a engine together, lim too.
painted up the valve covers. looks like they need another coat.
tomorrow ill get the rest what i got to go on it, on it and vbolted down, maybe ill put the hoist together too cause there aint much left to do on the engine for now.
I like your new avatar scotty
When I saw you were painting the valve covers yellow too, I found your profile pic very fitting lol
The argument for the block was that you don't really see much of it anyway. Well the front valve cover is pretty visible lol
Too much yellow. Should kept the vc back along with the SC

Yes black vc's would have actually looked pretty cool
Oh man, the yellow jacket is fulfilled lol
Finally learned what table modifier is, and I like itTrims are sooo much better. Now that I can go wot knock free, I've noticed I have a miss. What is a good plug gap for my setup? Think I gapped the 104's at .55.
Edit: SD I like the color scheme now. First pics you posted made it look like pastel yellow, something you would paint a nursery in lol. New pics look mucho better. Kinda makes me want to go till a field, but that's cool too.![]()
try gaping em at 0.50.
you need to remember, you cant see 90% of a engine when its installed in the car. once the headers are on you'll hardly see the block or pan ever again.
just my attempt at being different. red and black was not gonna happen. its what almost everyone does.
I'll try that.
Now you're just hitting below the belt. Red/black is where its at man. Actually I started painting mine before I joined the forum, now all the red/black I see is starting to wear on me. May need a makeover. Hmmm, scarlet and grey? Russosaur, your thoughts?![]()
