Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0
I purchased a set of H11 LED bulbs to try to make fit in place of the 881 fogs. I thought maybe I could modify the housing to make it fit. That was a failure, but it was not all for not as I was able to put them in my mom's car since she has H11 low beams.
She also had the radio interference I had, but when I purchased the H11's I also purchased some clip on ferrite cores to try to help with the interference.
Some research I had done said they may help. They were cheap so I figured, why the hell not? I did some experimentation with placement and after trying a few things I cleared the interference on my mom's car by placing a ferrite core right next to the LED bulb. I also put one on the factory harness next to the plug in as it seemed to help just a little bit more.
I finished up her car then I grabbed some dinner. I went back out in the dark with a flashlight to try to fix my interference. Even trying similar placement on my car I wasn't able to clear the interference yet. With the dark and the biting cold wind I finally said fvck it and bolted the headlights back in. I'll probably try again this weekend. I am sure I will be able to cure it, I just have to find the right placement.

I have 881 hid's in my 02, I got a 25w kit and it still sorta messed with the plastic housing and reflector.

There are a few 881 LED options. I found out the company I purchased my other LED lights from makes a 881 light, but they don't seem to be available on Amazon at the moment, I contacted the vendor to see if they are just out right now or what.
Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0
I picked these out like a year ago, haven't bought them because I still haven't built my retros yet

Yeah, I've looked at those ones too. They are one of the ones I am considering if the other vendor can't supply them.

Not really a fan of the projector on the front, I bet it just shines a giant circular beam.

Yeah, that's what I've seen. I'll get something and post up some pics once I have everything.

Now that I've finally got the correct wheel hub assemblies, I'm going to install those and new tie rod ends tonight. Then off for an alignment tomorrow morning.
Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0
Replaced my traction control switch finally...

Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0
Last night, I got installed the drivers side wheel hub assembly and both tie rods. We attempted the passenger side hub assembly, but could not separate the hub from the axle shaft, and some how fubarred the axle nut. Drove it home without the axle nut. So I brought it to Mavis today and had my cousin finish the work. He ended up having to torch the old hub assembly off. He rotated the front tires since they were chopping also. So for a new hub installation, new axle.nut, an alignment, and 5 hours of labor, I only paid $108. The car still makes the noise of an off balance/chopped tire, so im hoping the tires just need to wear in.

Swapped in a new upstream 02 sensor in our 05 Monte today. Because code p0135. I got the offset 02 socket from Harbor Freight. It would have been a 15 minute job, but I ordered the wrong one from Advance website. My bad, I clicked on the other 2005 vehicle in my "garage", so the upstream one that fits our 05+06 Grand Prix's wont fit the Monte. The tabs inside the connector are different. Oh well, now I've got a new one ready for the other two. Weird that it was $10 more for the Chevy??? WTF?

I have an aftermarket alarm and the LED/antenna is mounted on the top left of the windshield behind the brow line, so it is hard to see the LED in the day. The "flux capacitor" you saw is just a 12v flashing LED that turns on with the alarm. Simple and effective.

That's the snow from early October, still the same depth as when it fell.
And yes, my car is running while being plugged in. It's necessary if I want my car to get warmed up within the hour.
Re: What did you do to your boat today? Vol 2.0
